Bridal bouquet by Fleur, photo by Olivia Leigh Photographie

I had to start this post with just the most beautiful cascading bouquet, captured by Olivia Leigh Weddings.  This wedding, teamed with Estera Events, is such a perfect mix of a wild, overgrown garden in the center of history.  Taking place at the Chicago Cultural Center, I can't stop looking at the photos.  And Sarah Drake's gorgeous paper products are a wonderful, ethereal touch to the details of the day!  Oh, and let's not forget the beautiful copper vessels from Refind Joy!!

Congratulations to Emily & Angelo!!

The Secret Garden Wedding

I'm not really sure what I liked more about this sweet bride.  Her adorable southern accent or her incredible taste in flowers.  And could she and her mom have been ANY sweeter at all throughout all the planning?  AND the wedding was in a secret garden on the boarder of Michigan? Really?!  Pair that with the most perfect weather, the MOST amazing team in the world, a gazillion taper candles and I am in my little floral heaven.  I can't even wait for the professional photos, here are all the ones I snapped myself.  Thank you to Refind Joy for all the brass pieces!!

Congratulations to Whitney & Bradley!!

You KNOW events with Jayne Weddings are going to be absolutely spectacular, and that is absolutely the case with Allison & David's wedding at Loft on Lake.  The colors, marbled table runners, ceramic & brass containers from Re:find Joy & photography from Pen Carlson are just all perfect combination.  This is definitely one of our favorite weddings ever!  Congratulations to Allison & David!!

Dave & Kelly Marie

Last June I married the most incredible man at Camp Wandawega in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. It's kind of mind boggling to think that it was almost a year ago, because I can remember every single moment so very clearly.  I can't thank our friends and family enough for all their love and hard work.  After planning our wedding I have an entirely new love for my clients, I want them all to share the same joy that we did on June 1st.  Here are a few images from the wedding, our photographers Jaclyn Simpson and Jennifer Kathryn were absolutely amazing.

Race for the finish line! A Derby Baby Shower!

Last weekend I co-hosted a little baby shower for some good friends at my house.  With the due date being May 3rd, one of the greatest days on earth (The Kentucky Derby), we had the perfect excuse to start planning for some bets - will it be a boy or a girl?!  I am so excited to meet this little one! (Ps, I bet a girl).  And thank you so much to Refind Joy for all the wonderful silver serving trays!!!

Janelle & Chris!

A fish & Bird WeddingWild bridal bouquet by Fleur, photo by Julia Franzosa Photography

Our very own Janelle who works with us and is the owner of the amazing Re:find Joy was wed over Labor Day weekend.  This wedding was so exciting, as we talked about it in the shop f.o.r.e.v.e.r!  Janelle, being a designer and stylist had so many fun ideas, completely trendsetting.  With her Bird & Fish theme, she gave us the full reign to design as we liked, after she told us her favorite flower choices (I mean, come ON!  I get to make whatever I want?!).  We filled up the Fleurmobile and headed on the road to Michigan!  Here are some of the photos from the crazy talented Julia Franzosa Photography, and HERE is a link to see the wedding featured on Wedding Chicks with SO many more great details!

Congratulations Janelle & Chris!  We all love you both so much!!!

And.., we'll also be at Gaslight Coffee Roasters 7am-noon with pre-made bouquets, both hand tied and in mason jar vases!  Happy Valentine's Day!

Autumn Serenade: Craft at Wandawega

About a week and a half ago I was invited to Camp Wandawega by the amazing owners, Tereasa & David, to teach a wreath making & bulb planting workshop!  This little weekend was called Autumn Serenade, and a small group came together to spend time crafting, eating and drinking.  A bread making class was taught (we which all devoured at the chili potluck), and some beautiful terrarium and key necklaces were made.  Cocktail hour hosted a little class to pour some libations that helped us warm up on the overcast day.  Here are just a few photos I took, but there are SO many more to come!!

(Thanks so much to Refind Joy for these signs!)

That egg bake was quite delicious.  Here's how to make it!

What you need:

Butter for greasing the dish, 10 eggs, 1 cup whole milk, some salt and pepper, 5 oz of grated swiss cheese, 10 oz chopped, crimini mushrooms, 1 chopped sweet potato, 1 sliced shallot and 3 tablespoons olive oil.

What you do:

Preheat your oven to 450, and butter a shallow basking dish (about 2 quarts).  Whisk the eggs and milk, along with S & P (to your taste).  Then add in the cheese and whisk a little more.  Bake in the upper 1/3 of the oven until golden.  The recipe I read claims for 20 min, but it took about 40 min.

Meanwhile toss all the other ingredients and spread evenly in a pan.  Bake in the lower half of the oven for 20-30 minutes.  I stirred a few times, too.

Serve with those veggies on top!
