Dave & Kelly Marie

Last June I married the most incredible man at Camp Wandawega in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. It's kind of mind boggling to think that it was almost a year ago, because I can remember every single moment so very clearly.  I can't thank our friends and family enough for all their love and hard work.  After planning our wedding I have an entirely new love for my clients, I want them all to share the same joy that we did on June 1st.  Here are a few images from the wedding, our photographers Jaclyn Simpson and Jennifer Kathryn were absolutely amazing.

Gag me with a spoon

Months ago Tiffany from Soiree Events came up with a great idea.  An 80's inspired style shoot.  At first I was slightly dubious. I've avoided most of the 80's revival, with the exception for a love of the color teal.  However,  I will never question her ideas again.  Tiffany came up with a brilliant team and created a wedding concept that is so fun and bright and lovely!   Cristina G Photography captured all the neon beauty.

You NEED to look at the entire shoot, and you can do that right HERE because it was featured on Ruffled!!!

Thank you so much to an amazing team of vendors who made this so.very.good!

Billy Ball Place-card holder

Indie Wed is this Saturday, and in the spirit of DIY, we thought this is a great opportunity to share a little project from this past Summer.  Lily Red Studio, Soiree Wedding &  Events and ourselves created a whimsical & adorable, billy ball place-card holder!

A little while back our amazing friends from Truffle Truffle came over to the boutique and celebrated National S'mores Day with a Pop Up Shoppe!  It was a huge hit!  In case you missed it, don't worry.  We are having our second one this coming Sunday!!!

Caramels and donuts, Pumpkin spice/chocolate crema and turtle pie cake jars...  Autumn is really tasting good!

Now all these things that you see here are from last time, but we think you can get the picture.  It's delicious and super amazing.  And we definitely hope to see you Sunday!  And thank you so much to Lily Red Studio for taking these photos!!

Lily Red Studio stopped by!

About a month ago our friend from Lily Red Studio stopped in to take photos of a Truffle Truffle Pop Up Shoppe (more on that later!!).  She took some really beautiful detail shots of the boutique, and I thought I should finally share them with you!   Thank you so much, Suzy!!

More thoughts soon.  xo

A touch of pink

Indie Wed.  This is the IT of the wedding shows.  We haven't fully participated in an Indie Wed showcase (we definitely plan on applying for this coming January), but Joan of Five Grain Events asked if we would create a floral piece for her table.  Her inspiration?  The 1950's.  But her table was no ordinary sock hop.  It was glamourous.  It was sweet.  It was pink and pretty.  We chose a crystal cut vase from our vintage collection (You've been seeing a trend here lately, haven't you?) and designed a soft and romantic arrangement with a little bit of whimsy.  The setting was complete with incredible paper items from Suzy at Lily Red Studio (she amazes me every time!).  Also, aside from being an incredible designer, she is a photographer and is the face behind these wonderful photos!  Thank you so much, Suzy!!

Peonies.  You all know how dear they are to me.  I'll truly never tire of looking at them.  And to see beauties like this, with August knocking on the door is special.

What an elegant escort card table!

A beautiful card designed by Suzy!  These would also look so lovely when planning a silver wedding anniversary!

I think the incorporation of the table number & centerpiece is so tasteful and well done!

I love the blush pink with the silver/grey of the dusty miller.  The sumac & scabiosa are also such great textural additions.  The snapdragons are really just plain sweet!  Side note: I think I've told you my story about digging up all the snaps in my mother's garden when I was little.  I was so excited to show them to her, not realizing she had planted them that morning.  Snaps always make me think of that.

~~~
A special thanks to Five Grain Events for inviting me to be part of their incredible booth!  Also to Lily Red Studios for capturing such wonderful images of the blooms!  Also to Room 1520 for hosting Indie Wed!  Looking forward to seeing all the fabulous vendors in January!
Wedding brunch style shoot
Oh, finally!  I have been waiting just shy of a month to share this shoot with you!!  Suzy Rohan from Lily Red StudioJaclyn Simpson and myself worked on a style shoot at Salvage One for Elizabeth Anne Designs.  You can see so many additional photos of this right HERE.  If you love it, post a little comment on the EAD page telling us your thoughts.  That counts as a vote for us because this is actually a contest!  :)  Oh, and check in a few weeks The Sweetest Occasion for more images!!
Speakeasy Soiree
I remember someone once telling me that Jan/Feb/Mar are the slow months for us in this wedding industry "biz."  Frankly, I don't know what happened but that has not been the case in any way, shape or form.  Of course I'm not complaining at all.  But I am taking this morning to catch up on all my estimates and proposals with a mug of coffee  They gave me a beautiful iridescent, opal looking glass from which I have been channeling ethereal descriptions of gorgeous bouquets and table settings.  Much like these designs we created for this past Tuesday's Speakeasy Soiree.
Thank you, Suzy from Lily Red Studio for capturing these gorgeous images!  Suzy also created all the paper items for the event which were gorgeous!  She's working on some signage for us at the shop and I can't wait!
I forced myself to drink an extra Manhatten or glass of red wine here and there to provide the "vases" for the ostrich feathers & ranunculus.  Let me tell you, that's pure dedication.
~~~

Joan from Five Grain Events coordinated this fabulous industry meet up and as always it was incredible.  Networking can be a little difficult (especially when you have wallflower tendencies like myself), but she just makes it so easy!  Jordon's Food of Distinction provided delicious snacks for us to taste as we drank our mint juleps & bee's knees from vintage tea cups.

Amid all the running around the past week between the mock ups and meetings and emails and phone calls and designing, three house guests came to Mason de la Fleur.  One of Davey's closest friends from college and his fiance!  Engaged for just one week!  Of course the excitement was even more grand upon hearing and sharing their amazing news and I had to bite my tongue over and over to not overwhelm Chrissy with ideas (a curse of working in this industry.., too much info to share!).  What a wonderful week of catching up and simply spending time together.  Eating too much, walking around neighborhoods, scrabble games and more.  Isn't this what friendship is all about?

~~~
Anne, Davey's sister also came to visit.  Time spent with her is never long enough and I continually hint that she needs to move to Chicago where we will open all of our paper and crafty stores, plan weddings, sew dresses and go antiquing.  Oh, the plans we have!!!  Yesterday was spent all day rummaging through antique malls and finishing with a drink in a little cafe before our amazing dinner at Lula Cafe.  I was having so much fun I forgot to take a single photo, but luckily Suzy captured this one of all of us.  I think it's going to be a favorite of mine.
Now, back to the world of weddings.  Thank you all for your patience as I relaxed in Florida and hosted some love and friendship at home.  I'm WAY behind with everything, but am catching up.  We have an exciting wedding this weekend, a clothing swap on Sunday (4-7pm at Fleur!) lots of proposals & estimates to write and some outstanding weather today!  Hope you're all enjoying a wonderful St Patrick's Day!!
