Alexa & Jordan

Brunch weddings are so great.  Really just great.  Partly being a morning person, but also because who doesn't love brunch?!  Mini pancakes, french toast kabobs and champagne with orange juice (Let's be real, I always skip the OJ).  This brunch wedding just about two weeks ago could not be more perfect!  Inspired by Rifle Paper Co (One of our favorite lines that we carry in the boutique) Alexa & Jordan styled their gorgeous and romantic morning wedding with the sweetest details.  Teamed with the stylish Estera Events, photographed by the sweet and talented Cristina G Photography, and hosted at the Four Season Hotel, well now, that's just perfection!

Congratulations to Alexa & Jordan!!!

Inspired Creations

This evening I found myself lost in iphoto.  I'm trying to organize it, and while doing so, I came across some images that I was surprised I hadn't yet shared.  During Indie Wed we participated in the Inspired Creations Contest, and found ourselves as runner ups!

I want to send a little thank you out to the following, who made this such a fun shoot! Elizabeth Anne Designs, SQN Events, Simply Jessie Photography, Courtney Callahan Paper, Truffle Truffle & Femme du Coupe.  You are all such an incredibly talented group, and I am so tickled and honored to have you all in my life!! ~~~ Now, enjoy the photos, and bottom's up!
All these photos are by Simply Jessie!

10 days and waiting

I'm so sorry to have made you wait an entire 10 days for an updated post.  It tells you how busy we've been around here.  I jinxed us about a month ago when I casually mentioned to a friend, "August is always slow.  I'm going to take it easy, go to the beach, relax a little."  Nothing of the sort.  And we're continuing the chaos for the entire month of September as well.  Thankfully the Fleur family is nothing short of outstanding and talented and amazing and hilarious.  I mean that.  And a BIG thank you to all our brides the past two weeks who were patiently awaiting updates and proposals and style boards.  Your calmness helped us make it through the piles of petals surrounding our entire existence!

I'm actually a little bit at a loss of words at the moment.  Between a latte and an iced tea, my brain is floating with floral orders, blue mason jars, snapdragons and custard glass.

The local blooms in the boutique these days have been beautiful & exciting.  Hydrangea galore.  Plate dahlias.  Wild grasses & clover.  We've been working really hard on the storefront.  I think some of you know how much it has changed in the last year.  It's funny to think how two years ago I was very close to selling.  Some of you don't know that.  I hated the floral world, I was giving up.  I had shit being thrown at me left and right and I had to just get through it.  I planned on moving to Kentucky and hiding in the hills.  But it's not always that easy and running away is for pussies.  Out of nowhere there was a little whisper in my ear.  A sprig of Queen Anne's Lace and a poppy from down the street brought me back to reality (I looked for them this summer in the same garden, but this heat moved too fast).  That's when I began taking walks again.  Those walks were time spent thinking about the present.  I couldn't always be focused too much on the future, it was causing me to miss everything happening right now.  Such a simple thought, so easily forgotten.

This has been an interesting summer.  Goals and dreams haven't changed, rather shifted naturally.  I can't believe that there was a moment when flowers didn't excite me the way the did in the past and do once again.  Actually, two and three years ago are really difficult to remember.  Probably because the right now is just so good.

My carpal tunnel is back & tomorrow I'm getting some acupuncture from my friend Kim.  Then I'm taking a partial personal day to write hand written letters to two of my closest friends.  And I'm thinking I'm going to watch Seraphine, because I'm in the mood for the palette and the colors and quite frankly the slowing down.  Just for a day.  Then it's back to all of you.

Romantic Summer Style Shoot!

This past May, Ami from Elizabeth Anne Designs, invited me to work on a style shoot paired with Sara Gray Photography for the Marry This inspiration publication.  I truly don't know where to begin when describing my excitement.  I was (and still am) so very honored to be working with such a creative team!  Here are a few images, but I highly recommend that you check out the write up and the entire gallery.

These are just a few shots of the centerpieces, but we worked with some really outstanding vendors!

The shoot was held at Room 1520, with Pure Kitchen Catering providing food & beverages.  The outstanding place settings came from Plate.

These are our models, Alexia & Justine (Alexia actually just got married this past Saturday!).  Their hair was styled by Gia Tummillo and make-up by Nika Vaughan. That amazing couch is from Event Creative.  Feather hair piece, bird cage veil & earrings are from The Left Bank.

There are SO many more photos, and you really need to see them, right HERE.  And don't forget to pick up your copy of Marry This with all the tips on how to obtain this gorgeous look for your wedding!

Finally, I want to send a whole hearted thank you to Ami from Elizabeth Anne Designs!  I am constantly amazed with your incredible eye for style and bringing it all together.  Ami's wedding blog is hands down one of my absolute favorites and I am still so touched to have been part of her first style shoot.  Also, a huge thank you to Sara Gray Photography.  Without you, there would be no images of these blooms, and for that I am so thankful!  Your photography is absolutely incredible!!  And to everyone who reads my blog, thank you for all the comments and support.  I hope I continue to inspire you through color, texture and simply pretty blooms!

Sarah & Mike's May wedding!

This past May was filled with SO many incredible weddings.  Each week once the floral shipment was unpacked we all claimed "THIS is our favorite wedding of the year!"  But really, we truly couldn't choose.  Here are some beautiful photos of Sarah & Mike sweet garden themed wedding, taken by Artisan Events.  Amanda just wowed us with the images!

Sarah's bouquet was filled with two of my current obsessions, yellow peonies & Juliette garden roses.

The ranunculus are really outstanding, too.  This color palette is so soft and sweet.

We love pomanders for flower girls.  This one is made from pale yellow spray roses finished with a tuft of white ranunculus.  So cute!

The bridesmaid bouquets were equally as sweet with a little whisper of green added in.

White peonies lined the head table.

The centerpieces were filled with lush blooms to match the bridal party.  So full & beautiful!

One of the highlights of the evening was the place-card table, filled with yellow peonies.  Every year I am SO excited to see them!!

Congratulations to Sarah & Mike!!!!
