This could not have been a more perfect wedding! Held at Ignite Glass Studios, one of Chicago’s most fun wedding venues, the decor was inspired by a sweet summer picnic! We loved the table runners, the sweet S’mores guest favors and of course all the coral charm peonies! Thanks to Melody Joy Photography for the beautiful images and perfect planning from Estera Events, as always.
If you follow our Instagram, you know that I recently returned from a trip to Italy. I travelled to Tuscany for a very quick scouting trip, to visit the most serene and idyllic villa situated in the medieval town of Chiusi, Italy (Pronounced Key-usi). This 400 year old structure will be home for our most exciting workshop to date, A Tuscan Gathering ~ Flowering in Italy with Kelly Marie Thompson.
During my time there I worked on a photoshoot. It was two days of picking flowers at an organic flower farm, designing arrangements atop a hill, overlooking rolling landscapes and a little town. I stored the flowers in a beautiful wine cellar, foraged olive foliage and garden roses from the grounds. We laughed, shared wine, ate charcuterie. We strolled through little towns, and I saw a castle for the first time. I found myself lost at one point in a cobblestone street, and was surrounded with window boxes covering the walls of very old and very beautiful stone buildings. I took deep breaths and really can’t remember the last time I was THAT happy.
At one point I thought to myself, “Whoever designed this theme park thought of EVERY detail, it’s perfect.” However this is no theme park. This is simply a small town filled with smiling faces. A landscaped dappled with olive groves, scotch broom and fields of poppies. The scent of homemade pasta floating down the street, the sound of Italians laughing. Church bells serenading in the distance their sound floating through the thin and curved streets. This is a real place with wonderful people and experiences.
And I’m inviting YOU to join me next May to see it for yourself!
Many have reached out, asking how experienced in floral design do they need to be for this workshop? This Gathering it is open to all design levels. Those with a simple interest and those who have years of practice. Because this is a floral design course, and SO MUCH MORE.
We’ll begin our mornings with yoga, before or after you can sit by the pool with your espresso or cappuccino. We’ll travel to Puscina Organic Flower Farm where you’ll stroll the fields and clip your own blooms. We’ll design at the villa and I’ll share all my tricks on how to chose the right bloom, how to determine how many flowers in a vase. We’ll forage from the villa grounds and we’ll create together.
But we’ll also learn how to make pasta. And bruschetta. We’ll enjoy a walk through olive groves with oil and wine tastings. We’ll visit Montepulciano, a medieval and Renaissance hill town and stroll through the streets. You’ll see flower boxes in windows, laundry draped near windows with painted shutters. You will lose yourself in this little part of the world for a few days. Evenings will begin with an aperitivo, you’ll be reminded of the joy of laughter, you will experience authentic Italia! And to top it all off, our dear friend and talented Clary Pfeiffer will be there to capture it all and share photography tips! Oh, did we mention that this Gathering is all inclusive?! (Airfare not included.)
There will be so many memories to share, and I can’t wait to see you there. I want you to experience the soft and peaceful light of four hour long sunsets. Feel the soft and fragrant breeze in the morning. The taste and tooth of homemade pasta, the creaminess of gelato. Reservations are filling up, as there is limited space for this intimate and beautiful Gathering. Please join me for all of my favorite things, flowering, sharing meals, learning and travel.

It’s that time of year when most Chicagoans are missing summer, it is after all an incredible season in this lovely city. Which makes sense why we are always the busiest during that time, working on so many beautiful weddings. When the weather cooperates, there is nothing better than a gorgeous outdoor ceremony. Which reminded us of this beautiful and elegant, sleek yet garden inspired wedding at City Winery.
The ceremony was kept simple with a white frame and fabric, the back row of chairs matching. Peppered throughout were floral installations of blooms and foliage, triangular terrariums of blooms and inside guests danced under a trellis of suspended greenery and foliage. Lush blooms and lots of candles filled with reception tables. We hope you enjoy this wedding with photography by Jill Tiongco Photography and planning by Shannon Gail Events!
We simply cannot stop looking at these beautiful wedding images! The colors, the glowing candles, the incredible had table and the most lovely couple, this wedding is hands down in the Top 5 Fleur Favorites of 2018! Photographed by Erin Hoyt Photography, and coordinated by LK Events, we think it will be one of your favorites as well. Reception took place at the timeless Ivy Room, and can we talk about the anemones in the bridal bouquet?! Enjoy!
This is the time of year we begin gearing up for so many wonderful new lines arriving in the boutique! Here are just a few image of what’s been going on!
It has been a month to the day since we last posted! It’s because this is truly the busiest time of year for us this season. Every weekend we are back to back with the most beautiful events. And one of our favorite things about that is when the photos start to roll in. We hope you enjoy these beautiful images from Annie Steele Photography of a delicious June wedding at the Chicago Botanic Gardens (Naturally, a favorite location of ours!). It was a beautiful afternoon and evening with the lovely BCR Events. This wedding features our favorite floral escort wall, filled with foliage and blooms! Enjoy!
A regular question we receive is, "What's the difference between an escort card and a place card?" The answer is actually very simple. Your escort card will direct you to the table where you will be enjoying dinner. The place card will direct you to the exact seat. Place cards are often at an event that is a little more formal. Often, we see the head table has place cards, but not the rest of the guest tables. We love designing escort card displays, they are often the first introduction to the wedding! Here are a few fun ideas that we've created in the past!
One of our most popular escort displays is our greenery and floral wall. This versatile wall can be created with foliage, floral, a variety of fabric and more. We've used velvet and lovely ornaments around the holidays, and boxwood as well. This design fits so well in many locations, but especially the Chicago Botanical Gardens. Photo by Annie Steele.
We love weddings that are Logan Square based, and it was such a joy working at The Joinery this past April with Estera Events, Lula Cafe Catering & Nicodem Creative! We really wish we could do this every weekend!
The bride's bouquet had just enough of an organic feel with trailing foliage, yet balanced with plush focal blooms. Peonies popped back into season just in time for this wedding!
We absolutely loved installing this hanging floral backdrop with over 250 stems of foliage & blooms!
We are totally in love with their choice of black matte dinner plates!
And of course, always love adding a little height!
Valentine's Day is ONE WEEK away! Have you pre-ordered your flowers yet? There is still time to order a bundle of blooms for the one you love (Or yourself?!). Flowers not your jam? We carry a wonderful selection of fine jewelry, fragrance and so much more. Stop by the boutique, or call us at 773-395-2770 so we can make your February 14th something extra special this year!
We love an outdoor wedding reception in Chicago & we absolutely adore this colorful and fun wedding at Morgan's on Fulton. These photos from Dana Ann Photography capture all the happiness put into this wedding. This is seriously one stylish family and we were beyond excited to work with them on another wedding. And as always, we loved working with Estera Events!
We're not sure why it took so long to post these beautiful images, especially since they're from Clary Pfeiffer Photography, but better late than never! This is a truly classic wedding held at Germania Place, and Estera Events was there making sure every detail was properly taken care of. The tall gold stands on the guest tables are one of our most popular requests, and we certainly can see why. They're thin, elegant and do not obstruct any views. Paired with a candle treatment centerpieces and a lush compote, this wedding is pretty much perfect!
New Year's Eve we were delighted to work at The Chicago Athletic Association with one of our favorite planning teams, Jayne Weddings. We can't imagine anything more beautiful than a celebration overlooking Michigan Avenue in such an iconic hotel! Gold, ivory and greens made this celebration elegant and romantic. The photos from Sean Cook Photography couldn't be more perfect!
This past October we celebrated a beautiful wedding at the Palmer House, one of our favorite historic hotels in Chicago. The bride was from out of state, and we worked with Bliss Weddings to bring her vision to the stage with lots of planning, phone calls and tweaking to make sure everything was perfect! Pairing our favorite roses with pheasant feathers and all the magnolia you can dream of, this wedding was simply lovely. The photos from The Image is Found made our day! Enjoy!
This past March we were once again beyond thrilled to sponsor the floral for the Martha Stewart Wedding Party show in Chicago, held at the Radisson Blu. Coordinated by The Wedding Library and Lovebird Events, it's one of our favorite bridal shows in the city, filled with talented vendors and basically the best vibes you can imagine. Martha Stewart editors Darcy Miller and Anthony Luscia few in for the event to greet guests and offer some wedding advice, and we were honored to sit on a panel of experts alongside Darcy to start off the event! Here are a few images of our displays, photographed by Amanda Megan Miller!
We finally are blogging this beautiful & bright wedding at The Adler Planetarium! Although we love neutral wedding palettes, it's so fun when you add a little bit of brightness into the day. We were thrilled with these photos from Tim Tab Studios and the day was perfect with Wrap it Up Parties. Love and good vibes all around!
This wedding truly made us happy. Add giant magnolia centerpieces to black taper candlesticks. Include lush, foliage heavy centerpieces and terra cotta lanterns. Charcuterie plates from Boutique Bites and Estera Events there to coordinate it all, and you're left with the most beautiful wedding at the Arranmore Polo Club under a clear tent with 1000's of sparkling lights. Truly a Fleur favorite! Natalie Probst Photography captured everything so perfectly!!
