This could not have been a more perfect wedding! Held at Ignite Glass Studios, one of Chicago’s most fun wedding venues, the decor was inspired by a sweet summer picnic! We loved the table runners, the sweet S’mores guest favors and of course all the coral charm peonies! Thanks to Melody Joy Photography for the beautiful images and perfect planning from Estera Events, as always.
Wedding ceremonies may be a quick part of the celebrations, but they are our favorite part of the day. We’re those people that tear up regularly during the vows. We love adding floral to the ceremony (Of course we do), but who doesn’t want to be surrounded by a beautiful floral frame when they share their love to their partner in front of their closest friends and family? We have some gorgeous weddings coming up in the next few months and as we were preparing for them we were reminded of this gorgeous day at the Chicago Athletic Association. Our copper chuppah was adorned with greenery and pops of jewel toned blooms, the reception filled with delightful glow and color. Enjoy these photos from Tim Tab Studios!
We’re halfway through August, and soaking up all of the summer vibes right now. We’re also preparing for some beautiful autumnal weddings coming up. This year our busiest season is late summer and all of fall, and we completely understand why. There is something very magical about the end of the season’s last push of floral and foliage into the world. We were reminded of this gorgeous wedding last year at the Bridgeport Art Center, filled with glowing lights (by Art of Imagination), pampas grass centerpieces (One of our personal favorites) and beautiful blooms. Enjoy these photos from Sullivan and Sullivan Studio!
We’re thrilled to share with you this beautiful wedding, inspired by the West Coast meets the south. Soft colors, beautiful linens, peaches and an open patio. Julianne & Michael’s celebration says summer to us in all its splendor! The beautiful images are captured by Julia Franzosa Photography, the linens came from La Tavola and all the planning details were perfectly executed by Estera Events. Dining and dancing under the starts is a real treat for a Chicago wedding, and we were overjoyed for such perfect weather! The table centerpieces were lush with color and lots of greenery, offering a slightly overgrown look, and peaches were added for a little nod to a southern upbringing. Those personal touches truly made the day even more special! Enjoy this lovely wedding at the Skokie Country Club!
We’ve been going through our archives, enjoying some strolls down memory lane (with 17 years, there are a lot of beautiful memories! In honor of Pride month, we wanted to share one of our all time favorite couples with you - Connie & Jessie. These beautiful souls have become dear friends, and we hope you enjoy these gorgeous photos at The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, taken by Amanda Hein Photography and coordinated by Greatest Expectations! We truly believe, Love is Love.
Happy Cinco de Mayo!
We are always inspired by the colors of Mexico, and thought that today, one day before Cinco de Mayo, is the perfect time to share these photos from a shoot we worked on this past autumn. Designed by Lindsay Campbell on behalf of West Elm, this is truly the perfect May 5th fiesta for us! Held at Farrand Hall and photographed by Belen Acquino Photography, we hope you enjoy! And at the very bottom, take a peek at some of our favorite Logan Square Mexican Restaurants!
There are SO many delicious Mexican restaurants in Logan Square, here are just a few of our favorites!
Always friendly and always delicious, we can’t count how many tacos we’ve eaten here over the years. The back patio is especially special, too - you’ll forget you’re even in Chicago!
To quote their website, “A menu as diverse and colorful as our heritage.” We could not agree more! We wish we could eat here every night! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Their cocktail list is extra special too!
Laid back, tacos & Mexican street food. What more could you want??
if you’re looking for something trendier with beautiful design, check out Lonesome Rose. We’re in love with their margaritas!
Boutonnieres or pocket squares? Of course we’re biased, we love a little flower tucked into the lapels of suits and tuxedos. There is something delightfully classic and romantic about accessorizing with a touch of nature. The word “Boutonniere” is French for “Buttonhole Flower, and back in the 16th century these were worn to ward off evil or ill luck. They added a little bit of fragrance & hide less pleasant scents. For a time they were worn on battlefields, denoting the family you represented (Funny that we haven’t seen more flowers in Game of Thrones, come to think of it).
These days boutonnieres are most often seen worn at special occasions. Celebrations such as weddings, proms or a very special date. In the past we saw a single carnation or rose, but fortunately now they are very personalized. Sometimes they are chosen to match other flowers in a wedding, and often we’ve included a stem or two to recognize heritage. We’ve included thistle for a groom who was born in Scotland. We’ve also added rosemary to some, representing remembrance and as a nod to the couple’s love for cooking together.
Here are just a few of our favorite boutonnieres. Classic and also not classic, we hope you enjoy!
It’s that time of year when most Chicagoans are missing summer, it is after all an incredible season in this lovely city. Which makes sense why we are always the busiest during that time, working on so many beautiful weddings. When the weather cooperates, there is nothing better than a gorgeous outdoor ceremony. Which reminded us of this beautiful and elegant, sleek yet garden inspired wedding at City Winery.
The ceremony was kept simple with a white frame and fabric, the back row of chairs matching. Peppered throughout were floral installations of blooms and foliage, triangular terrariums of blooms and inside guests danced under a trellis of suspended greenery and foliage. Lush blooms and lots of candles filled with reception tables. We hope you enjoy this wedding with photography by Jill Tiongco Photography and planning by Shannon Gail Events!
This morning it was snowing. Well, it was actuating ice falling from the sky. We’re all nature lovers over here and generally love all the seasons, but today we didn’t mind reminiscing about this beautiful summer wedding. Held outdoors on the roof of Morgan’s on Fulton, it’s pretty much the quintessential Chicago summer wedding! Coordination was planned by our girls, Estera Events and photos are from A Couple of Dudes Photography.
Wren’s gorgeous bouquet featured anemones, garden roses, ranunculus and other summer specializes.
We love a ranunculus boutonniere!
Give us all the flower girl hoops!!! They are one of our favorite accessories for the little ladies.
Our floral wall is the prefect backdrop for an escort wall.
We thought the rose napkin accents kept the wedding warm and sweet. Overall, we simply adore this color palette! And we loved hanging all the greenery from the cafe lights outside. This also gives a garden-like feel for the city!
This is the most perfect Chicago wedding photo!!
We’re thrilled to share this wedding with you from just this past season. Ceremony and Reception both took place at the University Club of Chicago. Photos taken by Dory Tuohey, and planning by Tracy Events. We love the rich colors and all the tall magnolia centerpieces. And there is such a beautiful glow cast everywhere (Check out the head table!). Enjoy!
We simply cannot stop looking at these beautiful wedding images! The colors, the glowing candles, the incredible had table and the most lovely couple, this wedding is hands down in the Top 5 Fleur Favorites of 2018! Photographed by Erin Hoyt Photography, and coordinated by LK Events, we think it will be one of your favorites as well. Reception took place at the timeless Ivy Room, and can we talk about the anemones in the bridal bouquet?! Enjoy!
Chicago weddings are so elegant. And weddings held at the Chicago Athletic Association are especially stunning. The history of the building and the incredible view, the architecture and lighting - everything is pretty much perfect in our eyes. We’re thrilled to share the beautiful images from Ann & Kam Photography of this beautiful day with LK Events. In the Madison Ballroom, our copper chuppah is adorned with floating orchids & the aisle is lined with over 100 candles and over 700 rose petals. The White City Ballroom has a collection of tall and low centerpieces, and candlelight galore. We loved every minute of it, and hope you do as well!
Autumn weddings are so lovely and perfect. The color palette can run from vibrant and bold, mix in with rich rusts and rose gold, or bring in a little classic white and green with soft seasonal hues. That’s what you’ll see in this beautiful wedding at the Saddle & Cycle Club. The images from one of our favorites, Natalie Probst Photography are truly beautiful!
Digging through the archives, we realized that we never blogged about this beautiful wedding at the Chicago Cultural Center! One of the most majestic venues in the city, with views of Millennium Park it’s a location not to be missed whether you’re a tourist or planning your wedding. Enjoy these beautiful photos from Stoffer Photography. And a special nod to Shannon Gail Events for coordinating all the incredible details!
There is nothing more romantic than an intimate wedding in one of your favorite restaurants. Located in Lincoln Park, this stunning Arts & Crafts building is so special. Originally built as a shelter for ice skaters, its rich history has provided the city with much love. The view isn’t too bad either.
We were delighted to fill the inside of the restaurant with gorgeous centerpieces, appearing to grow directly out of the table, add candle light and glow and transform the space into a secret garden. Enjoy these beautiful photos from Tuan B & Co of this dreamy wedding coordinated by Bride + Joy Weddings.
This is the time of year we begin gearing up for so many wonderful new lines arriving in the boutique! Here are just a few image of what’s been going on!
It has been a month to the day since we last posted! It’s because this is truly the busiest time of year for us this season. Every weekend we are back to back with the most beautiful events. And one of our favorite things about that is when the photos start to roll in. We hope you enjoy these beautiful images from Annie Steele Photography of a delicious June wedding at the Chicago Botanic Gardens (Naturally, a favorite location of ours!). It was a beautiful afternoon and evening with the lovely BCR Events. This wedding features our favorite floral escort wall, filled with foliage and blooms! Enjoy!
