Doreen & Jacob

Saturday nights are the quietest for me these days. We worked on six events this weekend with an incredible team.  Amy, Caleb & Janelle are the simply the most.  Unlike the regular work week, our busy times begin on Thursday when flowers arrive and prep is non stop.  Friday we make and create, sometimes set up a wedding (like yesterday), and Saturday is by far the busiest.  Logistics, packing, delivering, unpacking, arranging and so much more.  By Saturday evening I just want a book or crossword, a glass of red wine, and that's when I begin to reflect on the past days.  With all that said, I want to thank my staff.  You guys were and are amazing.

2012 has been outstanding.  Once our new website is up, you'll see why.  I'm thrilled with the work that was produced.  I just attempted to sort through my iphoto (HA! Anyone want to intern for me and start with organizing that?) and ended up lost in the photos.  There are a couple of weddings I am DYING to show you, but can't.  Not yet.  As a midwesterner, sometimes I feel like the designs we are asked to create are a little on the conservative side.  Arrangements are manicured and tailored.  Don't get me wrong, they're beautiful and absolutely gorgeous and I love them all.  But I did go to school for art history and studio art.  I thrive on challenging myself.  I'm thrilled that this year some of our clients allowed for a little bit of that wild side to come out.  I traveled to both the west and east coasts this year, where the landscape (both in the cities and outside) are a bit more overgrown.  It was inspiring.  Sigh.., I've been longwinded in these posts lately.  I suppose because the season is slowing down and there is time.  I can't wait for the new website and the new blog.  I can't wait to share with you what inspires me, and how it influences all of our work in the boutique.  I can't wait to share with you our new name.

In any case, here is a beautiful wedding from Olivia Leigh Photography, one of the most stylish and darling photographers I know.  We had the delight to work with her on three weddings this year, making up for the lack in the past.  Each one was unique and so.very.lovely and I just adored every single couple!  This wedding took place at Fulton's on the River.  The colors are gorgeous and Doreen & Jacob adorable.  Congratulations!!!
