Crystals and candles

I admit, I've been a little slow around here this past week.  This heat wave we've had since Sunday is daunting.  Our little inferno that we call Home Sweet Home has a labyrinth of fans, forcing the cool air from our window a/c unit into the living room and bedroom.  The other 3/4 of the apartment is just a mess.  After eating just a peach, I'm stuffed and want to take a nap.  I've begun pretending that the walk from my car into Fleur's storefront boutique is a free day at the spa.  And yesterday while waiting for my ticket at the parking meter station, on my way to order tacos, I silently told myself "Kelly, you're on vacation in Mexico right now."  I just don't remember extremes like this when I was a kid.

But I'll save my environmental rant for another day.

Here are some photos of a recent wedding at The University Club.  I really love the Cathedral Hall room.  It's so peaceful, and setting up in the room is relaxing.  Our incredibly lovely clients, Jessica & Colm, wanted a romantic setting.  Candles everywhere and blooms in the palette of grey, white & ivory.  This is what we came up with.

The bridal bouquet featured ranunculus, garden roses, grey brunia, dahlias, lisianthus, sweet pea & hydrangea.  So lush and almost wintery.  A calm color palette.

The bridesmaids carried a similar bouquet.  Those button dahlias are adorable.

And the flower girl carried a magic wand!

The centerpieces were elegant and beautiful.  Candles, mercury glass, milk glass, vintage and new candle holders.

I was so pleased with this wedding!

I leave tomorrow for Minnesota.  To see family and enjoy a little time on the lake.  Hopefully we'll cool down a bit.  In the meantime, enjoy your Friday!!
