Indie Wed. This is the IT of the wedding shows. We haven't fully participated in an Indie Wed showcase (we definitely plan on applying for this coming January), but Joan of Five Grain Events asked if we would create a floral piece for her table. Her inspiration? The 1950's. But her table was no ordinary sock hop. It was glamourous. It was sweet. It was pink and pretty. We chose a crystal cut vase from our vintage collection (You've been seeing a trend here lately, haven't you?) and designed a soft and romantic arrangement with a little bit of whimsy. The setting was complete with incredible paper items from Suzy at Lily Red Studio (she amazes me every time!). Also, aside from being an incredible designer, she is a photographer and is the face behind these wonderful photos! Thank you so much, Suzy!!
I love the blush pink with the silver/grey of the dusty miller. The sumac & scabiosa are also such great textural additions. The snapdragons are really just plain sweet! Side note: I think I've told you my story about digging up all the snaps in my mother's garden when I was little. I was so excited to show them to her, not realizing she had planted them that morning. Snaps always make me think of that.
A special thanks to Five Grain Events for inviting me to be part of their incredible booth! Also to Lily Red Studios for capturing such wonderful images of the blooms! Also to Room 1520 for hosting Indie Wed! Looking forward to seeing all the fabulous vendors in January!
