Local is lovely! Please join us for a centerpiece design workshop celebrating Chicago's summer growing season, and embrace the opportunity to design with locally grown flowers, herbs & foliage here at Fleur on Sunday, September 13th, from noon to 2 pm. The price per guest of $175 will include:
* a lesson on making your own lush floral centerpiece using all organic and sustainably-grown flowers from Brightflower Farm in Stockton, Illinois – just 130 miles from our front door. Janessa from the Fleur team will teach you all the basics, and help you find your own design voice!
* education about the #slowflowers movement, including the importance and implications of supporting local, sustainable flower farming.
* a 30 minute lesson on making shrubs, syrups and tinctures using cold infusion, taught by Chad from Longman and Eagle. He'll be using the same organic herbs and flowers from Brightflower to make these mixes, and each student will receive a custom cocktail to toast at the end of class.
* a miniature potted succulent grown by Brightflower Farm for you to take home as a favor, along with your centerpiece.
All workshop materials will be provided, from the blooms and foliage to clippers and vessels. It’s going to be great fun, and we’ll send you back out into the world not only with a gorgeous arrangement and a fresh new set of design skills, but armed with new knowledge about how to make your world a lovelier place at minimal cost to the environment.
Space is limited and our workshops sell out quickly, so call us at 773.395.2770 to sign up! We look forward to spending an afternoon of design with you.
